Q&A with Josh Kosckeck
Check out the Q&A with Josh about UFC 103 and more ...
What are your thoughts on your upcoming opponent, Frank Trigg?
I think Frank Trigg is a good fighter he always shows up to fight his ass off. He is a south paw and has good wrestling and boxing! Should be a fun fight for both of us. I am looking forward to getting a big win in Dallas, Texas over Frank.
Describe a typical day of training for this fight...
Training for this fight with Frank, I have been working on alot of bjj, strength, cardio and wrestling! I wake up and train at 8:30am with cardio and drills for 45 mins. Get some rest then come back to the gym at 11:45am to get ready to spar with guys like Mike Swick, Jon Fitch, Josh Thomson, Nate More, Nate James, Ron Kesler, and the other AKA fighters. So I have a 3 round fight every M-W-F with these guys. When it comes fight time, I have fought Frank Trigg 100's of times. After midday training, I get lunch and head over to score clinic to get adjusted and a massage. Then home for a napper... After napper I head back to the gym for my last workout around 7:30 pm. This workout is cardio or BJJ or some pad work with my Muay Thai coach or boxing coach. This training session lasts about 1 hour 30 mins. After that I am all done with training. I head home and get dinner and hottub and get into bed and sleep so I can do it all over again the next day!
Training team for this fight?
I train with the AKA fight team.
What are you doing on your free time in training camp?
My free time??? I am sleeping. Haha... with 3 workouts a day there is not much free time, but I watch movies and call my biz parther and bug the living shit out of him.
How's your new gym?
My new AKA Fresno gym is kicking ass... Fresno has been my home for the past 6 years. I love that place. My gym is the best place in Fresno to train MMA. I have 2 black belts in BJJ, 2 world class boxing coaches and a world class Muay Thai coach along with the best local fighters in Fresno. I have to thank everyone who helped out with opening the gym.... It came out sick - God I am truly happy about being AKA to Fresno.
What's next for you?
As of right now I am only focused on one thing that's fighting Frank Trigg Sept. 19 at UFC 103 in Dallas, Texas. I can't look past him for one sec. I would like to just win this fight and go home and rest my body and fight again before the end of the year. But let's focus on Frank first.
Well anything you want to get across to your fans?
I would like to thank my fans for backing me up over the years. It's been a fun ride with highs and lows. Let’s tune in Sept. 19th for another page in the Kos book. I am fighting and training hard to put on a show and come time those cage doors close behind me, I am fighting for everyone that has been there for me!!!!!!
