Josh Koscheck Interview with the People's Defender

Josh Koscheck talked to the People's Defender about his career in the UFC, a typical night of playing blackjack for 12 hours, his thoughts on a few other fighters, his mentors, and more.

When asked what a typical night out is like for him, Koscheck answered, "It would be kind of boring. For the past two years or so I haven't partied, haven't drank or done anything. A typical night out would be to cruise over to Vegas and pretty much play blackjack for about 12 hours."

He also shared that he needs oatmeal in the morning to get ready to train, that the worst job he ever had was washing cars, and that he likes every kind of music except country.

On the fighting front, he explained that he doesn't care about anything other than the guy he's fighting: "I don't look ahead or past anybody...I'm just worried about what I have to do to win the fight and that's it." He also shared that DeWayne Zinkin and Bob Cook of Zinkin Entertainment have taught him a lot about business and life, and that you have to capitalize on your momentum. He also said that the biggest influence on his life has been his grandparents, as well as Tim Flynn, the wrestling coach at Edinboro University.

When asked whether he does things to attract attention to himself as part of a larger plan, Koscheck said, "I'm not giving away my secrets. If no one knows your name, if no one is talking about you, then guess what? You are not fighting in the UFC. It's a business and I have to do what I can to get people either for me or against me. It's that plain and simple."
